this week in writing we watched a little clip. There are two main characters. We got to choose and then write a story to each other. Here is a photo of my letter.

this week in reading, we are starting to try to read for as long as we like (just without any distractions) our high score so far is 23 minutes.

This morning we started learning about oceans.
I found out that the Titanic has been under the water for over 100 years, and is under water at 12,000 feet.
Later on, I want to find out what is the longest killer whale in the world?

This week in maths we did  a basic facts test. My goal was to get 95 or more (My highest score out of 100) but i got 78. We also did lots of working out, and my lpg was number 10

This week in reading we read a story this story was about how when he lied and then it came true. My lpg was number 2

This week in writing we did some boggle games. What is boggle you ask? Well boggle is is a game where you shake this little box filled with letters. Then the teacher will write what it came up with on the board. Then he/she says three minutes and counts down. The aim of the came is to come up with lots of words that have 3 letters or more. The words that the teacher doesnt get you get extra points. My lpg was number 7 

This week in reading we read a story. This was about lots of cars in northland and they are just getting dumped then stripped for parts then left there. A school started a cleaning group thing and have managed to clean up all the cars so far! I have learnt so much from this and now I am trying to help with this mess! My lpg was number 2! Now I hope you will help us!

This week we did some handwriting and my goal was working on tidy letters. We have a a treaty and we all signed our names on it and so that we remember it all off by heart what we do is we write a couple of them down in handwriting, but making sure we are focusing on our goal. Here is a photo-

Te Reo

This week we did Te Reo and we are learning the days of the week. WE\e got a buddy and then asked them what day of the week it was in maori and they had to reply in maori!  Here is the sheet that helped us.

This week in maths we have been working on shapes like "likely" shapes and "Non-likely" shapes. We have also been working on 3D shapes and I am in the middle of making one! My l.p.g was to stay on task (which i did) and keep working on that! Here is a photo-  It may be a bit hard to see it though...

This week in reading we did some work about "Henderson Island" We all got an articale about that island called "The Once Pristine Henderson Island Is Now Covered With Plastic Waste." I learnt so much, and I also learnt that, that island has over 38 MILLION pieces of waste on it, and 68% of the junk is berried and 10 centimeters deep!!! My l.p.g was to find out a
s much as i could and make sure it was all correct. Here are two photos- one is the articale, and one is the work sheet we did on it.

Writing

This week we worked on our dust jackets in reading. Dust jackets are the outsides of books, and my book and "Not So Normal" We had been reading this book in "Colbolt" (my reading group)
My LPG is 8 I think.

This week we did some maths, and we played a game. It was helping us to remember our time tables. Then we would add all the time tables up, and it was who ever had the biggest number wins!
My LPG was 9.

This week we were working on creative writing. First we got a sentence starter like "The fish had a wish, his was was to..." And then we could carry on with the story. Here is two of mine in one page.

This week  we were doing handwriting, and my goal was having a good size. (not to small, not to big.)

Today we played target in maths for the first time in a while. You are probably wondering what target is! Well target is a game where the teacher rolls a dice and says it out loud and then you either put it in the tens or ones. The aim of the game is to get 100 by the end of the game and the teacher will end up rolling the dice 7 times at the end. The first time we played I got 101 the second time we played I got 101, and the third time we played I got 99. Here is a photo!

Today I think it was our last perswaysive writing time as a class, and I wrote about trying to convince most to help our school to change the lunchtime time from 12:00-12:55 but I want to change it to 12:30-1:30. Here are some reasons why: Well for starters it will be a bit sad because we only have one hour in the middle block to do our maths so thats not that good. Also if we havw more time to learn we will get a good job, and with a good job we will get money, and with that money we will spend it on food to keep us healthy, and also to have warm clothes and a house. Therefore I believe that our school should change the lunchtime time!

Today we were working on reading, my lpg was number two, and this is a photo of my my map of a story called "The Penny Walk" A map of a story is when you and you put the events into a map and you put the road names on the map where they should go, and you put every detale in about the town, city or place. 

Today we were doing handwriting and my focus was to keep my handwriting neat and tidy... How do you think I did?

Today we actually wrote a piece of writing to convince most to go on the disagreeing side of the reasons why we shouldn't turn our school into a mufti school. This is what I wrote. Today I am going to convince you to go onto the argument side of disagreeing that we shouldn't have a mufti school. Here are the reasons being: Well for starters the polo shirt represents our school and it says "Hurupaki cares. Another good reason is that our parents have spent so much money on our uniforms it would be very sad for all of that money to go to waste! Also another money problem: If our school does go mufti kids like us will want more clothes to wear because they will start to keep wearing the same clothes over and over again... And last but not least I think this school should be mufti free because some people will show off, or even maybe make fun of other outfits... Therefore I think our school should be mufti free!

Today we did a basic facts test and I got 73%100 and now I know what to work on if and when we have free time in maths. A fun mistake I made was the first one... It was 2+7 but I did 2x7 so I got my answer as 14! Here is a photo!

Today we were debating and the topic we did was "we should not wear school uniform" and I was disagreeing.  A few reasons were :  We should not have a mufti school because we already have uniforms and we spent lots of money on them. Another one was that it also was not good because some people will show off, or some people will make fun of other peoples outfits. Here is a photo.

Hi! Today I was working on times tables. It was just like 6x5= and then we would have to work it out by halving and more. This was based on our five times tables... Here is an exsample. 6x5= and then we would split the numbers up like say six people, and five pancakes, and then we would times them. How to figure the answers out... This is how I figured the answers out, If I knew another times table or divide I would go like this... thirty \ six = 5 and then I would do something like this if I didn't know that. Thirty \ five = 6 I could use many more but this was an exsample.

Today we were doing spelling activities and I learnt all of my words off by heart thanks to practicing. How I learnt them was by writing the spelling words normally and then after writing  the first word I would write backwards under. For example, brotherhood-doohrehtorb. Here's a photo!

Today we were doing spelling. We had a choice, but I choose rainbow letters. Rainbow letters is when you write a spelling word two times and put them in a colour.  Each spelling letter is in a different colour. I didn't have enough colours to do one each so I just did them over again. Here's a photo and I hope you like it! Here is a example of what I did.

Today we did some maths, our maths was about adding or taking away one group, eg: 5x39=195 etc. Here's a photo.

Goals

This week, one goal I worked on was '' Speed '' In Handwriting.
Our challenge was to do Handwriting in Eight minutes or under and I learnt to take my time in everything I do even if it takes eight minutes. Here's a photo of my Handwriting.  At the bottom of my Handwriting it's got a time and it's 5.30

My Swim For Life Planning

  This is my swim for life reflect planning Hamburger which helped me to get idea's for my writing reflect on swim for life - Hope you like it!  

I have been practicing my complex sentences and telling the teachers what I love to do in my spear time... In my spear time I like to ride my horse Fredy and the subjects I love are, Art, maths, PE, and free choice writing. I also like to study animals, and I like to gather up facts and research online, from my family or my teachers. I also like to go to friends, but i'd rather spend time with my family. I also love to do D.I.Y things and do new things at home or at school - Hannah Lammers.
